Man, I am run off my feet! I just spent the day Christmas shopping at West Edmonton Mall. There is a good reason why I only set foot in that place once a year; it’s hellish. For the past 10 years, the last week of November is crunch time for me. I have to have everyone’s Christmas gifts bought, wrapped and in the mail headed for Cape Breton so that our family will get their gifts on time. Mailing everything really limits some of the gifts we are able to give although online shopping certainly helps!
One thing that also helps keep things in order in all this Christms chaos is keeping lists! I am a hot mess without my lists but I’m not writing these on just any old piece of loose leaf. Oh no, I am a sucker for pretty paper. Post it notes, file folders, notebooks, fancy clipboard paper. I have it all. So when I came across a tutorial for this project on Honestly WTF and saw that I could make my own, I got a little too excited. I wrote out my Christmas list, then an unnecessarily long grocery list, a to-do list for next week and of course a “honey-do” list for Aaron (if he’s ever able to stay home for longer than 4 days a month). This paper is just so pretty!
As I have mentioned in previous posts, I love a project where no two are alike and this definitely falls into that category. I loved seeing how the marble design would look different from the last each time I pulled up the paper. Once you start you can’t stop! This project was so addictive and the possibilities of what you could use this for are endless. It was also simple enough that my four-year old joined in and made a few sheets of her own…until she completely took over and I was washing shaving cream off of everything!
Handcrafted Marble Paper
Materials & What to do:
Normally I don’t like to sell myself short and not give you the instructions myself, but I followed these directions at Honestly WTF exactly and my marble paper turned out perfectly. Check out their tutorial complete with really helpful photos on how to create some of your own. These really turned out beautiful! Enjoy!
