Do-It-Yourself

Homemade Orange Cream Milk Bath

March 3, 2019

Happy Sunday everyone!  Sunday is my favorite day of the week.  It’s always been a day of rest, time with family, refocusing, and call me crazy but the sun is usually shining on a Sunday!  But do you know what I don’t love….. Smonday…..you know what I’m talking about; that feeling when the weekend is almost over and the anxiety of Monday morning sets in.  When I start to notice that feeling coming on, I kind of turn a little selfish and try to make the most out of what’s left of my weekend.

So I haven’t been posting much on here the last six months and I’m not happy about it.  But to all my faithful followers, thank you from the bottom of my heart for sticking with me.  Although I do enjoy my new job, it is insanely busy and I’m missing creating things for my blog so so much.  I rarely bake anymore which has been better for my physical health, but not so much my mental health.  Baking has always been a cathartic release for me, but rushing to finish up work at the end of the day, scooping up Mairead from day care and coming home to pop a frozen lasagna in the oven just hasn’t had the same effect.

With work being so busy and a HORRIBLE flu bug that made its way through the house for the second time this year, I was in need of some serious “leave-me-the-fuck-alone” time.  The only way to get that around here is if everyone is sleeping and I can lock the door from the other side.  So that’s exactly what I did!  I originally whipped up a batch of this homemade orange cream milk bath to throw in the tub with Mairead for some detoxification after her brutal illness, and she came out smelling so good and so soft, that I whisked her off to bed then ran a bath for myself.  Of course the glass of wine I had with it didn’t hurt, but I enjoyed it so much, I did it again for the next 2 nights!  The milk bath, not the wine 😉

This diy milk bath was so quick and easy to make, it was literally ready to go in minutes.  These are perfect for little gifts and would be simple to dress up with glass jars, a ribbon and pretty label.  I foresee lots of friends and family receiving these in the near future.  Let me know how you like it, and if there are other scents you experiment with please pass them along!  Enjoy folks!
