Well, it’s that time of year again! I’m busy packing our bags to head to Cape Breton to visit our family this week. This summer we have weddings to attend and new babies to meet, on top of our daily beach trips and loads of family time. All three of us are looking forward to getting away for a couple weeks, and of course that salt water air.
As anyone who has seen the suitcase I lug home every summer will tell you, I am terrible to over-pack. I hate being somewhere and needing something (I don’t really need it) but I cleaned out my closet of two garbage bags of clothes, old jewelry and make up so we’ll see if I can get away with a smaller suitcase. Ha! Ya right.
A few things that are definitely making their way into my suitcase this trip are some brand new goodies from my new friends at Love Drop Apothecary. These natural health and wellness enthusiasts have been so kind to gift me with a few of their all natural beauty products to review. If you’ve been following my blog for a little while now, you’ll know I am all over this! I’m always open to trying new products, especially if they are something I can bring into my regular beauty regimen.
I received four products; the L Steamer, two L Masks formulated for two different skin types, and the L Serum facial oil. Below is a little run down on my experience using these products:
L Steamer: This is one of those things where I asked myself, “this is genius, why didn’t I think of that?!” Although it is not something I would probably take the time to use daily, it offered an opportunity to put life on hold and relax for a few minutes. The aroma was amazing and I used this steamer for longer than suggested just so I could keep inhaling the scent! When I lifted my head up from the bowl I literally said out loud, “oh my God that’s good!” It left my skin feeling incredible and my mind relaxed. I love it and I’ll be for sure using this L steamer again.
L Masks: These masks come in two types, original for combination skin and green for oily skin. I have mixed reviews for each. Naturally I went for the green mask first as that’s more tailored to my skin type. I liked how it felt while applying it to my skin in the beginning but after a couple of minutes I found my skin feeling really tight and I didn’t enjoy it. With the original mask I wasn’t a fan of how it felt going on at first but the longer I left it on my face the more I liked it and once I washed it off my skin felt healthy and nourished.
L Serum Facial Oil: If I had to pick a favorite this would be it! I always love a good oil but this one took me by surprise. A little goes a long way but I especially loved how quickly it absorbed into my skin. I could even use it at bedtime without it leaving an oily mess on my pillow. My skin felt nourished when I woke up and after cleansing my face in the morning, I reapplied the oil and I could easily apply my makeup over top. I have been using this in place of my usual moisturizer for the past few days and I love how healthy my skin looks and feels.
Overall, I give Love Drop Apothecary three cheers! These natural beauty products were great and I certainly would recommend them for others to try. I look forward to trying out more; I’ve already got my eye on the L Butter and the L Balm looks amazing too. Thank you so much to Natasha and her crew for sharing! Check them out!!
