Hello again!! It has been far too long!
My apologies for not posting anything in the last couple of months. I’ve been directing my efforts at applying for work outside the home and spending more time outdoors with Mairead. I love sharing all my creations and recipes on here, but I had to dial it back a bit. Anyone who has ever done the blogging thing knows how time consuming and it is, and how expensive it can get when making things specifically for the posts! The bloggers who claim to make a living from this industry have blog-brain 24/7 and I just needed to get away from that mindset for while.
But of course I’m not ready to throw it all away just yet. Three Happy Folk is still very much a creative outlet for me and I really enjoy sharing some of my goodies and projects. Thanks for sticking with me 😉
Now that summer is right around the corner I have been baking a lot less sweets and making an effort to not only eat healthier, but also care for my skin better too. I’ll never be able to completely forgo my Burberry perfume or colossal lash mascaras, but not using them everyday has been the goal. By now it’s no secret that I love love love essential oils and I’ll find any excuse to incorporate them into my skin care and bath products. Today’s diy project is no different and just might be my new favorite!
I bought a perfume oil from Anthropologie a while back that smelled amazing but instantly gave me a headache when I applied it. Obvious that I could no longer wear it, I poured out the chemical-ridden perfume and reused the roller bottle for my own diy all-natural lavender citrus perfume oil. You can find several types of these bottles on Amazon if you don’t already have some you can reuse.
This perfume oil is beyond simple to make and lasts for months. Not only can you feel good about creating your own chemical-free perfume oil, but the aromatherapy properties are an added bonus as well. The possibilities are endless with the various scented blends you could make. Nadia at Body Unburdened has a great blog post on creating these blends with top, middle and base notes if you take essential oil perfume making to the next level. I found her article really informative before I got started.
I would love to hear what blends you come up with if you do attempt this simple diy. Let me know how you like it!
