Well it’s that time of year again. It’s probably one of the busiest times of the year for me; Aaron’s work is as demanding as always, I started taking care of a friends 10-month old baby part time (she is so fun!) my parents are visiting for 10 days, and it’s Mairead’s birthday! I live for making birthday’s extra special and even if she’s too young to understand the effort that goes into some of the things I do, Mairead’s birthday takes the cake (no pun intended). I am infamous for coming up with creative ideas but never being able to find them in stores or just too cheap to buy them so I make them. I stay up late, get up early, put off other probably more important things and I make decorations, party hats, treats, whatever the “perfect” party calls for. Some of them turn out awesome and some of them are a total joke but I’m just never satisfied until it’s as close as I picture it in my mind.
For Mairead’s 4th birthday she requested a Princess Party…actually her exact words were “I want a Princess-ac/dc party!” (Aaron’s musical influence not mine!). Now, I’m either crazy or I subconsciously love being completely exhausted and worn out because for Mairead’s party I made her princess party hats, a royal carriage centerpiece, silhouette decorations, a pin-the-kiss-on-the-frog game, cookies, cupcakes, rice krispie treats, and oh my God I seeing this all written out I must really be insane. This didn’t all happen in a day but I have been busy preparing for a few weeks and all that mattered was that Mairead and her little guests were impressed. After a few hours of play, treats and good friends and family, Mairead was generously showered in gifts and then it was all over. I can’t believe how quickly our sweet girl is growing up. Slow down life!

Can I hire you for my next birthday party? The cupcakes look perfect and the “royal jewels” are a very great and cute idea!
I’d love to! ; )
