Homemade "Bailey's" Irish Cream Recipe - Three Happy Folk
Okay guys, I haven’t even finished one coffee yet and I’m buzzed! What better way to kick off the week of St. Patrick’s Day than this. Ha! I myself am not Irish (I hail from a long Scottish bloodline) but I am a Cape Bretoner, and well, we’ve been known to enjoy a drink or two. However it’s Monday morning and I am a stay at home Mom. You’re right, why let that get in the way? Coffee and homemade “Bailey’s” Irish cream for breakfast it is. Ok, so I may have got a little excited while pouring, but let me begin by saying; this is not a drink for lightweights. You can definitely taste the whiskey but that might be because I used a good whiskey, not the cheap stuff. This liqueur is also very sweet. I don’t normally like my drinks too sweet but because its in a coffee and the alcohol taste is quite noticeable, the richness of the remaining ingredients compliment the drink nicely.
